Getting excited about my Miami trip. I hope to see different sides of the city. Last time, I got to see Downtown Miami for the first time. It was fun.

Here is where you can fly American Airlines’ wide body planes in the U.S. in June. Fly international lie flat seat for less (as low as 18k miles). You can also just enjoy flying economy on a wide body in the U.S. like I do at times. awardwallet.com/blog/fly-aa-li…

Tip: Is international business class too many points? Try Premium Economy. Sometimes, it is not many more points than economy on airlines. I haven’t done this yet, but for a flight in the fall , I see PE for 10k while economy is 6 k on Virgin Atlantic.

Should you take public transportation from the airport when you arrive instead of Uber/Lyft or a cab? I usually do. I used to pay $50 each way. Here are the benefits & my experience. Honestly, I save a lot of money , & have a lot of fun. travelpoints101.com/2025/06/14/5-r…

Guest gets charged $26 for a bottle of water in Vegas. I remember as a new visitor to Vegas I got charged $17 for gummy bears. I am so used to being elite at other chains, & they had it sitting out like elite benefits. viewfromthewing.com/aria-las-vegas…

For my Miami trip in 2 weeks, I am choosing between the Kimpton Surfcomber or Kimpton Palomar. The Kimpton Palomar is about $40 cheaper, but the Kimpton Surfcomber has the prime location. Honestly, I like a less crowded beach which is not always the center of South Beach.

This is my first time visiting Miami in the rainy/hurricane season. They said if it rains, it will be just for a couple minutes. Hurricanes don’t usually hit Miami until later, I have been monitoring weather though.

Fly Virgin Atlantic to Europe for as little as 12k points plus $70 fees. Most airlines charge around 30k miles during the summer for Europe, so I think this is one of the best deals to Europe with points. The fees coming back are higher, so you can pick another airline.

What ways do you save money on travel? I know some people stay in hostels. I have to have my Hilton or Marriott hotel. Some people only stay in limited service hotels. I prefer full service hotels. I think my two are public transportation & basic economy.
