The "avant garde" font chosen in the 70s for the Oilberta logo was self-consciously masculine and optimistic. Its recent replacement with a cursive font a few years ago is self-consciously feminine and more nuanced/nervous. I have no nostalgia for the avant-garde font/logo.

Before that strip tease of demolition, this was one of the first curtain walls and finest modernist office towers on Alberta.
