Another way to look at the current #APR battle 👩‍🌾 💥 👩‍💼 “Investors have over inflated the value of land” “Farmers must pay this value in tax!” 🤔

Steve Reed Im still waiting waiting for a reply to an email I sent you 12/12/ 24. Re, dumping of ammonia nitrate off Gt Yarmouth. Why no reply ? You obviously don't care.

The Treasury’s family farm tax legislation, which is accompanied by an impact assessment, suggests there will be “no significant macroeconomic impacts” at all. But a report says the reforms will cause over 200,000 job losses and cost nearly £2bn by 2030. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

James Mee of HM Revenue & Customs has won an award for his work on the family business inheritance tax disaster. Might be well worth giving him some feedback, you could well be the first private sector business owner he’s ever spoken too… linkedin.com/posts/james-me…

Tom Wright Steve Reed Looking at this from 12,000 miles away in New Zealand, here’s my question; When you say “more money than ever in the farmers pockets as a result of our policies”, what do you say to the farmers who stand to lose their farms due to the economic burden of the Inheritance Tax?

Tom Wright Clive Lewis MP Tom, agree with you. I work in food manufacturing and we are sleep walking into a food security issue and Govt decisions such as the IHT issue is making it worse. Labour MP'sneed to waken up before it's too late.

This is the most bonkers story of the week… the advisor behind the IHT policy that has been such a political disaster because it is so badly thought through (and widely criticised because the analysis was so poor) has won ‘expert of the year’

James Mee got an award for adopting Arun Advani & Andy Summers work, without checking it. It will actually bring in no extra revenue, and no one HM Revenue & Customs spotted this? 🤯 #apr #bpr #familyfarmtax

Nine months on since the budget and still on the front pages every week. The disastrous human and economic impact of this IHT policy will keep it there until it is sorted, but HM Revenue & Customs still see it worthy of giving someone a prize for it. Extraordinary. National Farmers' Union

Keir Starmer appears to look on awkwardly as President Trump discusses steps he has taken to help US farmers in response to a question from Bev Turner 🌸 about the family farm tax. Comes as a record number of farms were forced to close this year in wake of the Budget⬇️

Stuart (@stuartmaggs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It’s really not complicated, is it? If you’re going to tax farmers so much they could lose their farm, maybe you should wait until you’ve actually increased their annual income rather than just planning to do it at some point in the future. Or even better, increase their income

Tom Wright (@turbotechdog) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Is this the new spin? 20% over 10 years - is only 2% a year But, you only make 0.5% - 1% return on assets, so the tax is 400% to 200% more than your profits 💥

Our neighbour had the delights of someone starting a fire in a gateway this afternoon. With all the recent rain, I was surprised how the undergrowth went up too 🌳

Paul Davey 🚜🌾🐑🚛🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏉 Steve Reed Martin Lines Yes, but let’s be Real Careful in how this is communicated. Simplistic ideas such as ‘make farming more natire friendly’ = farmers being suddenly profitable, is really bloody unhelpful. Like it or not our current government aren’t listening to the nuances
