The likely reason that Mamdani claimed that he was African is that, like his dad before him, he believed in the political efforts of asserting a place in a post-colonial African society, despite the effects of expulsion and segregation.

Now the OP is resenting that their friend decided to do the comic they wrote on their own. Sorry but if you find yourself resenting other people because you didn't communicate it's 100% your fault

Banning math is a lot harder than banning CFCs, and many of the people in anti discussions don't even believe it has dangers similar to nukes! They're more concerned about copyright or whatever

Beyond that fact that this is straightforwardly incorrect, I find it fascinating how people defending religions often characterize them as mere “tools” in service of other things. A framing that very few religious people subscribes to, because it undermines their worldview.

If religion lends itself to being “weaponized” or becoming a “tool” for nefarious political purposes, surely there’s something about it that makes it work well as such.

Ironically, many religious people have less hesitation about drawing direct connections between theologies and the political worldviews they contribute to. Secular defenders of religious have this strange tendency of simultaneously looking down on and defending religious people.

So: -why is there no coverage or any warnings about something of this scale? -where's the communities stepping up to ensure people have help and safety? -where's the clean air spaces or buildings that have upgraded their ventilation systems and filters? disastrous incompetence
