City Hall’s research with London Councils revealed that just a 1% increase in housing affordability could yield a boost of over £7 billion to London’s economy over 10 years. Investment in building homes people can afford will lead to the growth we need.

The average house price in London is now almost 14 times the typical household income. It’s shattering one of the bedrock principles Britain was built on: if you work hard, you get ahead. Fixing the housing crisis isn’t going to be easy, but we can and will solve it.
