Known as “Cattle Feeding Country,” the three-state region of Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico is the most populated commercial cattle feeding area in the world and annually markets more than six million fed cattle – 28% of the nation’s beef production.

Nutrition programs, veterinary services, proper animal handling, facility maintenance and more: these management tools are essential to keeping cattle happy, healthy and productive on a feedyard.

With technology advancements, improved cattle genetics and detailed nutrition programs, U.S. cattle feeders produce 18% of the world’s beef with only 6% of the world’s cattle.

Consumers all over the world want access to U.S. beef because it's delicious, safe and wholesome. That global demand benefits producers throughout the supply chain. In fact, U.S. beef exports add an additional $407 in value per head.

The TCFA Education Foundation scholarship selection committee met on Monday to select recipients for the fall. The committee awarded $15,000 in total to 25 students. Recipients plan to give back to the beef industry & are primarily working toward master's, Ph.D. or DVM degrees.

In the monthly Center for Food Demand Analysis & Sustainability Food Insights survey, consumers compared beef from cattle to three alternative protein sources, plant-based, cell-cultured and lab-grown. On Monday, the fifth annual Beef 4 Kids Classic Golf Tournament was held in Amarillo. Thanks to the amazing sponsors and teams at this year's tournament, we raised $100,500 for the Snack Pak 4 Kids Beef Fund! Every penny raised will help provide students with beef protein🥩🍔
