Huge thank you the Bernstein’s for hosting the PCCM interest group for a great night focusing on the management of pulmonary emergencies. Residents had the opportunity to practice skills including chest tube placement, thoracentesis, and intubation with fellows and attendings.

A big shoutout to one of our amazing UConn faculty attendings, Dr Bernstein, who presented at the Academic Consortium on Criminal Justice and Health in Austin, TX! This conference is for providers who care for patients experiencing incarceration.

Last week marked the conclusion of this year’s annual UConn New England Regional Ultrasound Symposium directed by UConn’s own Dr Jennifer Kanaan. This is a hands-on advanced critical care echocardiography (CCE) course designed for critical care providers

Today, one of our third year fellows, Sruti, gave her very last grand rounds presentation on the health disparities in patients with sickle cell disease and proposed her algorithm for identifying pulmonary hypertension in this patient population!🩸🌎
