Stability in the Middle East is vital for global security. I’m concerned to see reports of strikes overnight. Further escalation is a serious threat to peace & stability in the region and in no one’s interest. This is a dangerous moment & I urge all parties to show restraint.

The reports of these strikes are concerning and we urge all parties to step back and reduce tensions urgently. Escalation serves no one in the region. Stability in the Middle East must be the priority and we are engaging partners to de-escalate. Now is the time for restraint,

Stability in the Middle East is essential for global security. The UK did not participate in the strikes overnight, and we are engaging with partners to urge de-escalation.

We are deeply concerned by Israel’s strikes on sites in Iran and further Iranian action we’ve already seen in response. The UK did not participate in this action. We have urged both Israel and Iran to show restraint and de-escalate. Further escalation is in no-one’s interests.

Alarmed by further strikes in the Middle East overnight, with reports of fatalities and injuries in Israel. We must urgently de-escalate & prevent any further harm to civilians. Following the Prime Minister's call with PM Netanyahu, I spoke to Iranian FM Araghchi to urge calm.

The UK remains in contact with partners in the region after further strikes overnight. In the past 24hrs, I have spoken to Israeli and Iranian Ambassadors to the UK, as well as ministerial counterparts in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. Vital that we de-escalate & return to dialogue

Tomorrow, I will be heading to Geneva to meet with the Iranian Foreign Minister alongside my French, German and EU counterparts. Now is the time to put a stop to the grave scenes in the Middle East and prevent a regional escalation that would benefit no one.

I’ve been in Geneva with European partners meeting Iran today. They have a window to agree a diplomatic solution - they should take the off ramp.

Iran must never have a nuclear weapon. The US has taken action to alleviate the threat that would pose to the global community. The UK did not participate in these strikes. We urge Iran to show restraint and reach a diplomatic solution to end this crisis.
