Last night's military activity between India and Pakistan is a serious concern. Speaking today to Dr. S. Jaishankar and Ishaq Dar I was clear that conflict is in nobody’s interest. There needs to be a dialogue that leads to a swift and sustainable ceasefire.

Important visit to Pakistan following the hugely welcome ceasefire with India. Because of the deep links between our countries, the UK is determined to play our part with India, Pakistan and international partners to help counter terrorism and ensure this peace lasts.

Child marriage is now prohibited in ICT. Congrats to the Government of Pakistan in taking this step to liberate countless young people from a practice that takes away childhood, education, and fundamental rights. Congrats also to Aawaz II partners who supported all the way.
