ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/30620…. Women have a heart too! I recall seeing this quote on a billboard, to draw attention and appreciation for CVD research in women. Finally there is a comprehensive review investigating the accuracy of all existing models to predict risk of CVD in women!

We leave engineering to the engineers. We leave surgery to the surgeons. We leave flying to the pilots. We leave electrical work to the electricians. But, we don’t trust vaccine science to the vaccine scientists. We trust Google, YouTube and memes over the professionals.

For something more lighthearted, this short paper from 2004 on "How to ensure your paper is rejected by the statistical reviewer" is an enjoyable read (bit.ly/2MUPVmf)

I encourage people to pay close attention to how often: - journal title comes up *before* the science in everyday discussions - famous speakers are introduced by journal titles they've published in, not the science Push back, please.

Does the inclusion of a biostatitician as a co-author improve the quality of reporting of clinical research? Ulrike Held describes plans for their study and highlights that just by asking the question is changing their local practice #SCTOevents

#AngeleGayetAgeron on gender bias in contributions to authorship in medical research. Women less likely to involved in conception and design, revision, final approval, and obtaining of funding. But more frequently in administration and logistics #SCTOevents bmjopen.bmj.com/content/9/2/e0…
