There's an old saying in Schelling—I know it's in Hegel, probably in Schelling—that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as... as... tragedy... the second time as... as... it's funny if it happens again

Just so we're all clear on what's happening here, the US government is creating AI-generated propaganda posters inspired by a WEF Facebook Boomer conspiracy meme, to justify taking real food away from real starving children, who are really going to die as a result.

I wrote about how the NYT keeps taking grimy potshots at Zohran Mamdani, suggesting he is struggling w/ Jewish voters but polls show this is objectively false—it’s just a racist vibe and reflects NYT’s editorial line that all Jewish voters are one dimensional pro-Israel cartoons.

The buses are rolling out. From Tunis, the Al-Soumoud Caravan begins its historic journey to Gaza. Crowds cheer, flags wave, voices rise in unison-Tunisians and Algerians shoulder to shoulder, hearts ablaze with solidarity. This is more than a convoy. It's a people's march. A

New Yorkers: I just passed two guys in fatigues that have ā€œEmpire defense forceā€ on the back of their uniforms in my neighborhood. I asked them why they’re here and they said ā€œto protect you.ā€ I asked, ā€œfrom what?ā€ They said ā€œeverything.ā€ Not good!

Let's be honest about what's happening here. Zohran's candidacy is an existential threat to the elites who have run NYC forever, including the elite NY Times board members who hit the Hamptons with Cuomo donors. This is a *change election*, and they are nervous.

NYT, 6/16/25: Mamdani lacks the "instinct for compromise that has made Bernie Sanders, his fellow democratic socialist, effective." NYT, 1/19/20: "Compromise is anathema to [Sanders]. Only his prescriptions are the right ones, even though most are rigid, untested and divisive."

What an insane way to describe arresting Netanyahu, who is under an ICC arrest warrant for crimes against humanity, just as ā€œIsraelis.ā€

here’s the thing with all the Biden/Harris counterfactuals: if they indeed would have done things differently now would be a great time to say so! They have a platform, they criticize Trump often and they—and Hillary and Obama—haven’t said a word criticizing Trump on Gaza or Iran

Oh my god it’s almost like the white brocialist narrative doesn’t hold up when you look at data and not at things media people say on Twitter? Maybe the fact those commentators only see white guys doing a thing says more about them than the politicians they seek to criticize??!

These people want to talk about everything except substance. This is like saying FDR won four elections because of ā€œfireside chatsā€ without talking about The Great Depression and The New Deal and why people supported his policies.

Zohran's wife is hot guys, c'mon now she has those big sleepy med eyes that make her look like a Byzantine icon, you can imagine her furtively beckoning to you from a well on a cool jasmine-scented evening, the heat of the Levant mercifully subsided. She balances a clay jar on

There are many fucked up things about the NYT Mamdani Columbia application ā€œstory.ā€ The one I can’t get over is that it depends on people reading the headline and not the piece. The NYT doesn’t even believe in being a newspaper anymore, just a single-sentence generator.

Taylor Lorenz (@taylorlorenz) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The only backlash was against the NYT for publishing such a sloppy hit job. But it’s fascinating how after months of making Zohran look darker skinned and more Muslim they lightened this image to make him appear whiter.
