Thinking about how VHS/DVD killed theatrical re-releases b/c people could now own their favorite films, only for streaming to kill the physical media market leading to most people not owning movies anymore making theatrical re-releases more popular than they've been in 40 years.

I mean, the case for tariffs is "we want to make things too expensive to import so we can build them here competitively," right? The administation should be taking ownership of this tax on regular folks. It's for the common good! Do you really need all that stuff anyway?

Everything this administration has been doing reeks of authoritarian behavior, but this meltdown about simple TRANSPARENCY in displaying tax information on products that Americans purchase will hopefully awaken the larger public to the material costs of their actions.
