Children have a right to a safe and clean environment.   On this #WorldEnvironmentDay, let’s recommit to protecting our planet, and its oceans, to be fit for children and future generations.

Ngân is all smiles at her school’s new water station. Thanks to UNICEF, they have a new rainwater harvesting system. This climate-resilient technology transforms rainwater into safe water for daily use, which means children can stay healthy and keep learning.

UNICEF continues to deliver results for millions of children that build on decades of progress in child rights & survival. We must protect this progress. But the sudden & sharp global funding crisis puts our critical work at tremendous risk. unicef.link/4dSDNhM

Core resources enable UNICEF to quickly direct support where children need it the most. We’re grateful for our fantastic supporters. But funding cuts could roll back hard-earned gains for children and threaten the lives we seek to protect. Learn more: unicef.link/RR

Play is a critical part of a child’s development, but for many children in conflicts around the world, this right is denied. UNICEF supports child-friendly spaces in conflict zones to encourage children to play, learn and experience a sense of normalcy. #InternationalDayOfPlay

This #InternationalDayOfPlay, UNICEF celebrates the Power of Play. We’re calling on governments, partners and parents everywhere to fulfill the right of every child to play, every day.

When parents and children connect through play, it’s magical. From backyard goals to living room home runs, these little shared times help children build skills that last a lifetime. Choose play every day because every moment matters. 💙 #InternationalDayOfPlay

The world has made progress in reducing the number of children forced into labor. Yet far too many continue to toil in mines, factories or fields, often doing hazardous work to survive.    We must recommit to ensuring that children are in classrooms and playgrounds, not at work.

“I feel weak and dizzy, my stomach hurts and my bones are starting to show,” says 12-year-old Tasneem in Gaza, who was diagnosed as malnourished. She remembers happier and healthier times with her family. Life-saving aid at scale must be allowed into Gaza NOW.

Progress to ending child labor is possible by applying legal safeguards, expanded social protection, investment in free, quality education, and better access to decent work for adults. But global funding cuts threaten to roll back hard earned gains.

80 years. That’s how long UNICEF has stood by its promise to invest in children’s well-being. Today, as global aid faces unprecedented cuts and lifelines for children are at risk, we are not stepping back. We are staying #ForEveryChild and you can stay too.

Cholera is a very real risk for over one million children in Sudan, with conflict affecting water and sanitation services. UNICEF has delivered over 1.6 million oral cholera vaccines, and with partners is supporting ongoing immunization efforts and disinfection activities.

In the last 5 years, measles outbreaks have hit over 100 countries, home to roughly three-quarters of the world’s children. But we know how to prevent it. Measles vaccines are safe and effective. Vaccinating every child protects all children and prevents the spread of disease.

As hunger and malnutrition among children soars in Gaza, UNICEF and partners are distributing what little nutrition supplies we have and are able to bring in. Life-saving aid at scale must be allowed into Gaza, NOW.

This weekend’s surge in violence across the Middle East signals a dangerous escalation.   Children are once again paying the ultimate price.   Civilians, especially children, must always be protected. My statement👇   unicef.org/press-releases…
