It was a pleasure to welcome the Mayor of Montreal Valérie Plante to London Stadium, where 3,200 solar membranes funded through our Green Finance Fund are now helping to power all major events. A great example of how cities can lead the way on delivering clean, green energy ⚡️🌍

Today is Armed Forces Day – a chance to say thank you to all those serving. From peacekeeping to humanitarian aid and emergency response, their work protects us at home and abroad. Their service and sacrifice must never be forgotten.

I have seen first-hand the excellent work Attlee Centre does and support the campaign to keep it open. Closure would have adverse consequences for the local community who rely so much on its services.

We pause to honour those we lost on 7/7 and those whose lives were forever changed. We remember the courage, compassion, and unity shown by Londoners and emergency workers in the darkest moments. #NeverForget

I first visited Lord’s as a teenager in 1988, and returned in 1989 with the Star Cricket Club team. I remember standing near the pavilion, soaking in the history and dreaming quietly. Today, to have my portrait unveiled at this very place is a feeling that’s hard to put into

NEW: 12 high streets across London will each receive £50,000 from City Hall to help boost local economies. I‘m determined to protect, restore and improve our high streets, which is why I’m so pleased to provide this new funding that will help boroughs grow and thrive.

I am saddened to hear of yesterday’s passing of Donald Rose - the UK’s oldest Second World War veteran, who passed at the astonishing age of 110.
