Through nationwide efforts—such as mass spraying, mosquito net use, drug distribution, and scientific breakthroughs like the discovery of artemisinin by Nobel Laureate Tu Youyou— China made significant progress and was declared malaria-free by the WHO in 2021.

He highlighted the longstanding China-Uganda health cooperation, which began in 1983, & in conclusion, Mr. Fan reiterated China’s commitment under the 2024 FOCAC Summit to continue supporting Uganda’s fight against malaria & strengthening its public health system. #EndMalaria
