Shame on you NICE. Agreeing that healthcare professionals can offer pseudoscientific pain relief to women in labour is nothing short of a scandal. Shame on you. New NICE intrapartum guidelines nice.org.uk/guidance/ng235 1/

Dr Sandeep Bansal Omg NO!!! Literally ALL female doctors get bullied by nurses. It is definitely A Thing. It was the worst in my first 4-5 years, and as a consultant now I hardly ever (but still occasionally) experience it. It is a huge issue. Sorry nurses. I love you but we all know it's true!

BBC News (UK) They are not even doctors far less under qualified anaesthetists. Difference between 15 years medical training and two years non medical training. It is absolutely terrifying for patients and a clear dereliction on the part of the trusts and government.

BBC News (UK) Dear BBC News (UK) please remove this misleading headline. Anaesthetic associates are NOT doctors. It is misleading to represent them as being ‘under qualified’ for a role they are not even trained to do at all.!

Kate Evans (@candystripe) 's Twitter Profile Photo

BBC News (UK) There is no ‘shortage of anaesthetists’. It’s an oversubscribed specialty for training. There are many competent doctors in the UK being prevented from entering training by inadequate training numbers. This is a deliberate government policy aimed at undermining the profession.

Danny Wong (黄永年) I think he has a point here. The doctors responsible should NOT be giving unsupervised access to PAs to order scans involving Uk using radiation in the same way they wouldn’t lend a prescription pad to their children to play with. You’re correct the system is a mess
