Yesterday at the Logistics Readiness Center town hall, Lt. Gen Milford H. Beagle Jr. recognized those who have showed exceptional work and how critical they are to keeping Fort Leavenworth operational through transportation, shipping, and moving. Congrats to all!


#FunFactFriday Colin Powell wanted to honor the Buffalo Soldiers at Fort Leavenworth. Powell commissioned Eddie Dixon, Army veteran, to create a 17-foot-tall sculpture of a mounted buffalo soldier on native limestone base. In 1992, Powell unveiled the sculpture Fort Leavenworth.









As school comes back in session this week, we want to remind our service members and students this #MotivationalMonday to #BeAllYouCanBe. Whether it's physical training or studying for tests, showing up is how we #ForgeVictory on Fort Leavenworth.


As the school year approaches across the Fort Leavenworth community, we want to remind you of best practices while you drive. This includes not passing stopped busses, stopping for cross guards, and staying alert for any signs or pedestrians in the vehicles surroundings.






For this #FunFactFriday, we look at the history of the United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB), established by the U.S. Congress in 1874. The "castle" historic walls and guard towers ceased prison operations in 2002, and is open to the public at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
