The University of South Wales is the only Welsh university facing UCU strikes this week, including at the Atrium in Cardiff Central. The USW's senior management has been one of the most punitive and intransigent in the UK. Jo Stevens, should a Welsh university be in this position?

Tim Clement-Jones Queen Mary University of London The Principal keeps stating that the punitive deductions are to protect students' education. But they cause more disruption and students know fully well who is to blame. Again. Tim Clement-Jones when a policy fails, a functioning management learns & adapts. youtu.be/PS-spqealt0?feā¦

We're joined in striking by the OUCymru branch of the Open University UCU. Also facing punitive deductions and a management that won't talk. Fantastic solidarity between our pickets yesterday!

Tim Clement-Jones Queen Mary University of London Thanks for reporting on what is being done to staff and students Queen Mary University of London, LBC! Now, if our governing body could listen to these realities of what's happening on the ground, and not to the spin by management, that would be even better Tim Clement-Jones youtu.be/NcQM5CIMHmw?feā¦

Like many unis, Keele University šæļø set out to break the union during the MAB. With indefinite 50% deductions they sought to deter, punish, create hardship and division. We organised wage sharing and hugely disrupted assessment. Now we are on strike all week. We will NOT be broken.

With Queen Mary University of London's failure to graduate students this Summer in the news again, let's also again highlight that students who were directly impacted knew exactly who to blame for that (hint: name starts with a B and rhymes with ukulele): apnews.com/article/uk-uni⦠#ucuRISING #RightToStrike

We held our EGM at midday today to consider our next steps in our local dispute with The University of Sheffield management. We had hoped to be able to put an offer to members to vote on which could have allowed members to return to work as early as this afternoon. 1/10
