Loving this essay. 👏 It's a subtle but critical thing Tobias has put the magnifying glass on. Developing your own style and taste is a constant fight against the human need for social connection and consensus. Nothing kills an idea like opinions (and everyone has one).

Part of why I want to quit social media is because of this. Sometimes I find something fascinating until someone finds it chaotic.
