Tomorrow, 42 million Americans might not be able to buy food after Trump shuts down SNAP payments at 5:00 p.m. Students will have to drop out of college if they don't get their student loans.

Trump got Mexico to send the same 10,000 troops to the border that Biden already got them to commit. Trump got Canada to agree to the same measures to fight fentanyl that Biden already got them to agree to six weeks ago. Wow. What a dealmaker!

Receiving that email “Congratulations to you for sponsoring a 2025 NETA winning entry” never gets old! So excited for my kindergartner!

🧵 If you’re applauding the abolishment of the Department of Education, you need to do a little research. You have ZERO clue what the DOE actually does. Here’s a reality check on what the Department of Education actually does: (1/14)

A 504 Plan is like adding a ramp to help a student access the school, while an IEP is like building a custom path to help them learn in a way that works best for them. #SpecialEducation #IEPvs504

Yesterday I learned there’s a local high school that’s been w/out a chemistry teacher for months. Subs cover the class & students receive packets to complete from the other chemistry teacher in the building & are told to watch YouTube videos if they need help. We have a problem.

The problem with education isn’t what we teach—it’s what we ignore just because it isn’t on a standardized test: creativity, leadership, critical thinking, resilience, problem-solving, communication—everything that actually helps students succeed in life.

There is no getting around the fact that teachers in very high poverty schools work soooo much harder. Completely different game!

Central office admin bloat is a real problem, especially combined with “data-driven” decision-making that ignores teachers’ reality in the classroom. #education #teachersoftiktok #edleadership #principalsoftiktok #datadriven

If you’ve been a teacher since the 00s or before, you think about this often. What happened? It gets worse every year and we never ask the testing giants why.

Sorry I know I’m going to alienate people with this, but in my opinion we need less ‘consultants’ in education and more teachers and leaders in post.

If Alexa or Google can answer the questions we are asking our students. We need to be asking them different questions. #neta2025
