Latinos are at most 5% of voters in PA, such that 1 pt of white support in PA is the equivalent of... 19 pts in Latino support. Moreover, shifts among non-white voters were known. It is white under-performance that is a surprise. If you want to place blame, pls show your work

No hot takes on Latino voters until you can tell me the names of the books you’ve read by Latino authors, can list Latino reporters, can tell me the names of Latino actors and artists. Don’t start with your theories on Latinos if you just discovered us last night.

This is Michigan Latinos. Need to see more (this is just Kent). But certainly enough to confirm that the exit poll estimate of a 38-pt Latino shift is...inaccurate. Would expect a ~5 shift in margin at the end of the day.

Equis’ Carlos Odio & Stephanie Valencia on immediate Latino analysis: “Blaming the outcome of this election on the Hispanic electorate is simply not supported by the electoral math in the Blue Wall states. To say otherwise is not only irresponsible, it is bad political analysis.”

Do not talk about shifts among Black men or Latinos without including what % of the electorate these groups comprise. Because a 1-point shift among white women (who are close to 40% of the electorate) affects roughly 7x MORE VOTES than a 1-point shift by Black men or Latinos.

All analysis should start here. Doesn’t need to end here — different choices could have produced different results. But this is the backdrop. The twin crises of post-pandemic inflation & migration rocked incumbents everywhere. Did Biden rise to the challenge?

Again, we can’t explain Trump’s victory on Latinos and Latino men putting him over the edge.
