The tubes for Vintage Carriages Trust owned Sir Berkeley arrived last week and the task this weekend was to fit them all ready to be expanded to ensure that they won't leak which is the next task to do.

Work on our locomotive 'Sir Berkeley' is coming along nicely with our friends at Middleton Railway! Here's a recent photo of some of the smart paintwork.

We are hiring a temporary, part-time member of staff (front of house), to work on Sundays & Mondays 09:30-17:00. Initially the appointment will run from April to the end of October, 2022. Expressions of interest to be made to Dave Carr: [email protected] by Monday 4 April.

Yesterday, our locomotive Sir Berkeley was given a major boost when the weatherboard and tank were replaced. Last week, cab side panels and the chimney were replaced, so the engine is rapidly coming together! Well done to our friends at Middleton Railway for their hard work!

Thanks to our members who attended our AGM yesterday. It was great to talk about our wonderful carriages, locomotives, museum and Rail Story at Ingrow partnership. To find out more about membership, including the benefits, please email [email protected]

Welcome back Sir Berkeley! After an overhaul from our friends at Middleton Railway, our industrial locomotive MW 1210 was officially launched back into service. Huge thanks to the efforts of everyone at the VCT, Middleton Railway, our members, supporters & partners. 📷 Hobo Tom Photography

A huge thank you to Anthony Coulls for the fantastic dedication speech at the launch event over the weekend, and of course a massive thank you to this man - Roger Crombleholme - our little green locomotive would not be where it is today without him.
