Welcome to Universität Bern @uniofbern, Michael Raissig @michaelraissig.bsky.social and Heike Lindner! We are very much looking forward to having you and your research group with us! 🍃🦸♂️🦸♀️

Super happy to tell that our project: 'The invisible allies: How soil microbes can help tackling climate change was' funded. We (me and Gabriel Moinet from Soil Biology Group - WUR) will be hiring 2 PhD students later this year. Looking forward to investigate soil microbes (🍄) and soil C!

It's time to reintroduce myself - Hi! I’m Ana, I used to do research on #Insects #SoilHealth #Ecology #Microbe #PlantSci. Now, I help scientists to focus and write papers more mindfully! Have a look ifocusandwrite.com and help me share it! Wageningen U&R NL Inst of Ecology Universidad de Alicante UA

Plants that are exposed to light cues from neighbors respond more strongly to stress volatiles- and then release more volatiles themselves. A booster for plant-plant interactions! Cool discovery by @RocioEscobarBr1 et al., funded by the Velux Stiftung. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Last year we buried over 2000 pieces of underwear and 12000 teabags with 1000 volunteers to estimate soil health. This Wednesday first results will be presented. We found thousands of microbial taxa and results point to the importance of land use and soil carbon. S. Franz Bender

Congratulations! After 4 years, all Universität Bern OH PhDs have successfully completed. Good luck to all incl. @valentingfeller FiBL, Mohana Mukherjee who will join the Nayak Lab, UCSF, Matheus Notter Universität Bern spin-off #Enzoxa Veronica Caggìa & Lisa Thoenen as PDs with @KSchlaeppi unitill

This is a really cool conceptual paper on "Using root economics traits to predict biotic plant soil-feedbacks" by Gemma Rutten and Allan Ecology Group! A must read for everyone interested in soil-feedbacks and traits 👇 link.springer.com/article/10.100…
