Enormous congratulations to Ilya and the Liberty Justice Center. People often ask, ā€œwhat have libertarians ever achieved?ā€ Here’s one recent example: They lowered your taxes.

No, we are living under a constitutional republic, in which presidents have no authority to rule by decree . . . and judges are called upon to restrain presidents who refuse to comply with the law. Miller's slander is contemptible.

I've got a new article in the Washington Post out today explaining what exactly happened yesterday with the Court of International Trade's decision against Trump, what it means, and what the Trump administration's options are moving forward. (link below) 1/2

I went back to find the posts from Miller about ā€œjudicial tyrannyā€ when the courts invalidated Biden’s student debt relief scheme but apparently he had a different perspective and his views on executive power have ā€œevolvedā€ since then.

"Thankfully, there are libertarian pubic-interest law firms... ." Yes, and we'll continue to sue any and all administrations whenever they violate the Constitution.

This Ted Cruz op-ed is disappointing. It’s especially notable because he’s also the author of the much better Universal Savings Account (USA) bill—an actually effective way to promote investment in our capitalist system.

Trump Accounts are basically a rebranded version of Democrat’s 401Kids proposal. Last year Senate Finance Cmte Republicans invited Veronique de Rugy and me to testify on why government-subsidized kids’ savings accounts like 401Kids are a bad idea.

Says something interesting about the modern Republican party if they turn to government subsidies to show their trust in the market economy.

Actually, Americans voted for lower prices after years of inflation. Tariffs jack up prices further—as the President understands based on his demand that Walmart shoulders the cost of the tariffs rather that hike prices. So that’s the opposite of what they voted for.

This would be a disaster. Good intentions don’t matter—outcomes do. Places that tried rent freezes saw construction stall, supply dry up, and prices spike long-term. The very people this is meant to help get hurt the most. Desist.

Trump just called Leonard Leo—the Federalist Society kingmaker and architect of the conservative legal movement—a ā€œscumbagā€ who probably hates America. The conservative movement sold its soul to a man who’s now tearing it down.

While reading this, it warrants mention that the only Trump-appointee involved in the USCIT decision was Timothy Reif. Except Reif was *not* a Federalist Society nominee. He was a staffer of Robert Lighthizer, Trump's arch-protectionist tariff guru from the 1st term.

This is a very important reminder from Veronique de Rugy ! āž• all the "why do the courts hate democracy" people defending an unconstrained executive branch might want to consider that support for tariffs is a minority view based on just about every poll out there. LOOK IN A MIRROR!

As the food stamp debate continues with the Senate next week, it's important to distinguish fact from fiction. Congress isn’t ā€œslashing benefitsā€ā€”it’s enforcing accountability.
