So here it is - right there. This disgusting racism. The fascists, the football tops, the Nazi -salutes. This is our work white people. We need to understand and expose the institutional racism deep in our DNA which results in this. We have urgent work to do. #BlackLivesMatter

Catch Jess Tom’s (Touretteshero) film #MeMyMouthAndI on BBC iPlayer. Jess asks us to radically reconsider issues of disability, representation and social exclusion as she prepares to perform the role of Mouth in Samuel Beckett's Not I. #WeShallNotBeRemoved

As the statue of colonialist Cecil Rhodes came down at the University of Cape Town in 2015, seven students wrote #TheFall. The play goes to the heart of how race, class, gender, power and history’s voices intersect. Watch it online here: bit.ly/2UUrri1

Amazing, brilliant, beautiful freelancers making theatre with their hearts and souls to excite and thrill us. Mercurial magicians. They must be cherished, nurtured, protected and championed. And paid. Properly paid.

84 years ago the New Deal Federal Theater Project funded Orson Welles' "Voodoo Macbeth" in Harlem's Lafayette Theatre with an all-black cast. Government support during the Depression kept US theatre alive & enabled it to be an agent of social progress. I hope our Govt takes note.

Incredible news. Thank you so much to all who worked so hard to make this happen. Thank you for listening Rishi Sunak Oliver Dowden Now we must work together to support the freelancers, ensure inclusion is meaningful, learn from this time. And make great shows for our audiences.
