Announcing the 1st of our Aug albums- Chamber Music by Ailsa Dixon performed by Villiers Quartet & guests. From the long-lost Scherzo, discovered in an attic after more than half a century, to the song cycle The Spirit of Love, Dixonโs music finally emerges from the shadows.

OTD 2017 #AilsaDixon's 'These things shall be' was premiered at the Cutty Sark by London Oriana Choir, 30 years after it was written and 5 weeks before she died. 8 years on, her debut album of chamber music Villiers Quartet Resonus Classics will be released 22/8

#NCMF25 Day 2: Friday, July 11 We continued at St Mary's in the Lace Market, Nottingham with a beautiful concert featuring the @villiersquartet. In the twilight hours, the VQ performed #Haydn Quartet in D Major Op. 76/5, Vivian Fung Quartet No. 1, and Schubert "Rosamunde" Quartet.

#AilsaDixon died 8 years ago OTD 8/8. Despite little recognition in her lifetime, the seeds of a revival were sown at her final concert. Today we celebrate publication of her scores + imminent release of Villiers Quartet album Resonus Classics Donne Foundation
