Schedules have been sent out. Tent has been set up. Swag bags are put together. Looks like I’m all ready to host my first ever in-person New Student Orientation for Virginia Institute of Marine Science. I can’t wait to welcome all my new students to campus! #studentaffairs #highered

It was an exciting and fun weekend for a group of first- and second-year grad students at Virginia Institute of Marine Science as they went to the VIMS Eastern Shore Lab to get hands-on experience with the resources and environments available to them. There is no better way to start the #fallsemester!

Thrilled to see my first, first-author publication in print! Our team provides a life history update for Pismo clams in California, the first in many decades. We include information on annual reproductive and body condition cycles, growth rates, and age at legal size.

Still feels like some sort of belated April Fools joke, but absolutely delighted to announce that I received the #NSF Graduate Research Fellowship today. In the overly ambitious words of my immigrant father: “Nobel Price next”
