What a pleasure to have this fella at my garden table, sharing a bottle of non-white wine, on the 40th anniversary of EFC winning the 1984/85 league title 💙

Just seen the EFC starting XI … Beto, Keane and Young, no Ndiaye or McNeill … typically canny of David Moyes to pick a team that will make the Friedkins double the transfer budget 💙

Has to be said that the names of most other new stadiums - the Emirates, the Etihad etc - roll off the tongue a lot more easily than the Hill Dickinson. So will it be known to Evertonians as the Hill, or the Dick? More likely just Bramley Moore … 💙

To the handful of great sporting Brians - Lara, O’Driscoll, Clough, Laudrup, Bevan, Close - we should definitely add Glanville. A wonderful football writer, gracing a pride of Brians. #RIP

There can’t be many people at the Cannes Film Festival today wishing with all their heart and soul that they were on Merseyside, but I’m one of them 💙

EFC now assured of 13th place, which in historic terms doesn't amount to much, but in the context of this season, and the perilous situation we were in, is a thunderous vindication of the decision to appoint David Moyes. Onwards and upwards 🚀

Don’t know why everyone’s grumbling about the game last night. Two Everton players on the winning side, Tuchel exposed as an overrated coach and motivator, no errors from Pickford except the error of not picking him …

Frank moves in after Ange gets the boot! Spurs have now become such a soap opera that they’re borrowing EastEnders storylines 😉
