As conflicts escalate, sexual violence is weaponised—to terrorise & dominate. Yet most perpetrators still walk free. To end these crimes, we must confront what fuels them: toxic norms & gender inequality. We owe this to every woman & girl affected by sexual violence in conflict

Yesterday evening in Colombo, #SriLanka, I spoke about how this nation is marked by resilience & a desire for change. At this key moment, it can show that when we choose justice, inclusion & human rights—societies can heal, reconcile & move toward lasting peace & prosperity.

Leaving #SriLanka with much hope. Sensed a real desire from Gov't & civil society to break from entrenched identity politics. In a divided world, my wish is for Sri Lanka to become a story of peaceful coexistence, of understanding others—where diversity is embraced as a strength.

Always heartbreaking to meet survivors of #torture. Their testimonies reflect the resilience and pain of survivors globally. On this International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, I honour them & victims worldwide—and stand with all seeking justice.

Important meeting today with Theresa May & the Global Commission on Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking. With millions trapped by severe labour or sexual exploitation, we discussed the urgency of coordinated global action to tackle root causes & end contemporary forms of slavery.

The energy transition is vital, but it must truly benefit the people it aims to protect. For a #JustTransition, equity, inclusion & accountability need to guide every step. We must protect people’s rights or risk repeating the very injustices this transition seeks to solve.

Billions face debt & inequality—while an outdated int'l financial system favours a select few. It's time for a #HumanRightsEconomy that invests in all people & our planet. I urge govt's at #FFD4 to act on the Sevilla Commitment & deliver a more equitable, sustainable future.

Grateful for a frank & open conversation with Prime Minister Golob today. We discussed pressing human rights situations, challenges to multilateralism & the vital role of EU support. I deeply appreciate #Slovenia’s strong commitment to human rights & to my Office’s work.

At the current rate, it will take 286 years to remove laws discriminating against women & girls. Millennia of inequality won't end without collective action. Leaders must act now for equal representation & pay. We cannot wait 286 years. We should not have to wait another day.

Everyone has a right to a stable climate & healthy environment—& Govts have a duty to urgently protect lives & rights. I welcome Inter-American Court of Human Rights's Advisory Opinion affirming Govts’ human rights obligations in the Americas to tackle #climatecrisis—a milestone for the region & beyond.
