"...Dignity for all human beings, equality under the law, respect for dissent, love of truth. These are the things we are losing under this president, and no policy is worth that price." – @BariWeiss #RealTime

This compelling statement by Bari Weiss, said in the context of Donald Trump and her faith tradition (Judaism), expresses how I feel about Mr. Trump and my faith tradition (evangelical Christianity). You may disagree; but she articulates her views as well as mine quite well.

My colleagues and I review evidence on optimal timing to initiate anticoagulants after stroke in AFib patients and need for clinical trials to get the answer, such as Lone Star Stroke Research Consortium START trial.

We switched completely to tenecteplase as local standard of care in our 10 hospital system 6 months ago. (N=97 so far). Significant time savings for drip & ship. Othe metrics similar to alteplase. COVID-19 may be another reason to switch. Simplicity of workflow.

Emergencies don't stop for #COVID19. Doctors fear a spike in deaths unrelated to #coronavirus as patients delay getting care for life-threatening conditions. If you experience symptoms of heart attack or stroke, call 9-1-1. via NBC News Kaitlin Sullivan spr.ly/60141IowM

Public service announcement from American Heart Association: Strokes and heart attacks still happen during pandemics. Our teams are standing by. If you have a sudden change in strength, speech, or walking, please don’t hesitate to call 911. bit.ly/2JG5VaA

We had been asked by colleagues from COVID-19 hot spots, hoping to reduce their potential exposure to the virus during a stroke code, for advice in switching to tenecteplase, as we had done pre-pandemic. This Viewpoint offers the rationale and our recommendations.

Although a clearly superior day to initiate direct oral anticoagulant treatment after atrial fibrillation-related stroke was not identified, the evidence suggests that earlier initiation within the first 2 weeks is better than later. ja.ma/42k9sEI
