Been blocked from replying on the thread. The difference wouldn't be £1500, it would be £50k. If you are selling a regulated financial services produce and 80% of your customers are in England, post independence you would lose 80% of sales, and jobs don't survive that.

That's true, not least because BlackRock and Allianz aren't banks. HSBC's ops in Scotland are tiny. JPM's are largely unregulated tech jobs The jobs affected would be servicing UK customers or Scottish domiciled banks but carry on telling me I don't know what I am talking about

Only about 10% Scotland's GDP is oil, and this proportion is declining. With new trade barriers, our high balance of payments deficit, high fiscal deficit and no institutional track record, currency exports estimate a 20-30% fall in a Scottish currency relative to Sterling.

The block grant gives us £12.7bn a year more than we raise. Balancing a budget with an extra £2,300 per person should not be hard.

I am blocked from posting on the thread, but I see Lealie's used figures that ignore the ⅔ of Scottish trade that is with rUK.

The supposed best estimate is the top end estimate and assumed 100% extraction, which is impossible. The money is not all due to Scotland, either. Our renewables industry relies on subsidy. We have had a trade deficit in 15 of the last 25 years.

Not the amount Nicky claims. He thinks that if a someone buys a Laphroig in a Berlin bar, the alcohol duty and VAT should be credited to Islay.
