We are at the Shine Dome Australian Academy of Science celebrating Brian Kennett's 75th birthday and honouring his work at the Kennett Symposium. Posters, talks and more!

Our paper from my PhD is out — co-authored with my supervisors Andrew Valentine and Malcolm Sambridge, we present a new approach to regularisation using sparsity with exciting implications for high-resolution imaging. Check it out here: academic.oup.com/rasti/article/… ANU Earth Sciences 🌏

Receiver functions (RF) are often used to map the Moho. However RF are notoriously noisy when there are sediments. This is a problem for Australia which is ~75% covered by sediments. In our latest publication, Shubham Agrawal (Shubham Agrawal) undertakes sediment corrections for RF

Are you planning to attend EGU24? Consider submitting an abstract to our session titled “The role of passive seismology in imaging sedimentary basins” meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU24/session/… Convened by: Simone Pilia Shubham Agrawal Nicola Piana & myself.

Dubious date for a paper to be published but yesterday my work with Dr Caroline Eakin ANU Earth Sciences 🌏 came online — mantle structures mapped in Africa and complex dynamics suggested beneath the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, by Quasi-Love waves. Read all about it doi.org/10.1029/2023GC…
