We Bernhardt Lab are recruiting grad students for 2024 (fully funded positions! Living wage!) on topics related to adaptation to global change and connections between biodiversity and human well-being See: bernhardtlab.org/join-us Grad ad: bernhardtlab.org/s/grad-student…

Proud of our BSc Biology programme: top rated programme and #1 in their field in the University selection guide 2024! Radboud University Radboud Faculty of Science ru.nl/en/about-us/ne…

New in Ecology Letters w/ @JennSunday and Mary O'Connor! We find that temperature-dependence of competitive ability (R*) is cold-shifted relative to population growth rates ✨competitive success is highest at temperatures that are sub-optimal for growth✨ doi.org/10.1111/ele.14…

Looking forward to generating new insights on Antarctic critters! nwo.nl/en/news/five-p… A new collaboration between British Antarctic Survey 🐧 , UC Chile -Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile & @RIBESresearch !

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions #eWARM project continues in Radboud University . Now, training with Wilco C.E.P. Verberk in experimental procedures to study the interaction of thermal stress with other environmental stressors in aquatic organisms (with an exceptional assistant in the field!).

Fun couple of days last week learning about the geomorphology & ecology of the Common Meuse. Rijkswaterstaat

Great week at the SEB @sebiology.bsky.social #SEB2024 in Prague where I had the chance to present my works on food quality constraints on consumers resting metabolic rate.

Funding for Open Science NL (@opensciencenl.bsky.social) is being cut per government's plans. It is disappointing that the Netherlands is jeopardizing its leadership in #openscience, but open science remains essential. We will continue to push for the transition. We'll respond further once the cuts are clear

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions project ‘eWARM’ is hosting the symposium ‘Predictive Ecology in a Warming World’ in Granada from February 3-6, 2025. We’ll be joined by a remarkable group of experts in global change biology, presenting cutting-edge research in the field.
