The WCPS Secondary Art Show opens Saturday, April 26, at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and runs through Sunday, May 4. The museum is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 AM-5 PM. Visit and enjoy the outstanding artwork created by our students.

Today is National School Nurse Day! School nurses positively impact students by providing direct care, managing chronic conditions, promoting attendance, and connecting families to community resources. Let’s celebrate these dedicated healthcare leaders!

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! This month, we celebrate the incredible work of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and audiologists who support our students so they can express themselves, understand others, and thrive academically and socially.

Congratulations to the members of the InnovatED Learning Center’s Class of 2025 who received their diplomas last night. Tonight, the Boyd J. Michael, III Technical High School will hold its graduation ceremony at South Hagerstown High School Stadium at 7 p.m. (new time).

Congrats to Casey Dawson, lead teacher at Rockland Woods Elementary and our next Gold Compass Award honoree! She’s a dedicated instructional coach, a passionate leader, & a relationship-builder who lifts up students & staff every day. Thank you for all you do, Casey!

Our next Gold Compass Award honoree is Rodney Gayman, Principal at South High, who leads with Belonging, Community, and a Growth Mindset. At South and throughout his career, he fosters inclusion, supports growth, and never misses a chance to make a difference. Congratulations!

Paula Jackson, a Student Intervention Specialist at Williamsport HS, is being recognized with the Gold Compass Award! Ms. Jackson builds true Community at WHS through kindness and connection. Her Engagement with students & staff and her Growth Mindset inspire everyone around her.
