BGS Grassland Farmer of the Year 2025 Our judges were out & about yesterday, visiting the first of our three finalists – Mike & Caroline Hawking (Bude Grassland Society). They run 197 pedigree Holstein Friesian cows on 94 ha near Beaworthy, Devon. Looks like they had a good day!

BGS Grassland Farmer of the Year 2025 Last Thursday, our judges visited the second finalist – James Witter (Cheshire Grassland Society). James runs a herd of 525 cows, mostly Holstein Friesian, on 290 ha near Sandbach. Luckily, the rain held off until the judging was completed!
