There’s a reason that I say that a path to legal status would actually REDUCE exploitation of migrant workers; bad-faith employers couldn’t dangle deportation over their heads as a means of crushing worker organizing.

The notion that it's the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT "standing up" against public defenders in court is hilarious ...And also terrifying people actually see it that way?

Stephen Miller is lying to you. The Supreme Court has emphasized for generations that EVERY person gets due process. Here's none other than Antonin Scalia in 1993: "It is well established that the Fifth Amendment entitles aliens to due process of law in deportation proceedings."

As the judge said, literally the only evidence the government offered to explain Ozturk's detention was an op-ed she had written. You cannot have a more blatant violation of the 1st Amendment than imprisoning someone because they wrote an op-ed.

I don't know, maybe it's because we're admitting refugees who don't seem to be in any particular danger or hardship while tossing Afghans who helped us during the war under the bus of the Taliban? Just a thought.

Trump's announcement that he's ending TPS for Afghan refugees is a betrayal of the people who entrusted the US with their safety and their future. The administration must reverse this decision immediately.
