It’s a packed board meeting at West Elementary School in West Seneca. There are a lot of CSEA members present who will be impacted by the proposed cuts. The district is looking fill a $5M budget shortfall by eliminating 47.5 positions. WGRZ

Interim Superintendent Dr. Jeffery Rabey is giving his budget presentation. Even with the Governors plan to change the state aid formula off the table, it doesn’t look like the financial forecast for the district is changing. WGRZ

Interesting development here in West Seneca. After the public comment period the board had a 5 minute recess. Then came back and then went into executive session to “discuss an employment matter.” The vote to adopt the proposed budget still needs to happen. WGRZ

After a half hour, we’re back. WGRZ

WGRZ And the board has unanimously adopted the budget. The public will vote to approve or not on May 21. The board refused interviews after the vote. They also didn’t seem to know why they went into a second executive session either. Story at 11. WGRZ

Hamburg listened and is willing to work through this. West Seneca refuses.
