The Government is publishing its disability cuts Bill today - slashing up to £7 BILLION in vital support.   This isn’t about helping disabled people. These cruel cuts will drive 100,000s into poverty. These cuts should have been dropped. Now they should be voted down.

PIP is not an out of work benefit, and the DWP have already informed us via FOIs that many of those who rely on PIP to stay in work - 55% of them (of 510,000) - will lose their PIP. Starmer's 'moral crusade' is a lie.

Woohoo! The benefits bill will give us 13 weeks of extra benefit to us time "to adapt" to losing £9000 a year. Yay. That makes everything alright then. Question: is Liz Kendall stupid, or does she think everyone else is? Seems to me that she's "taking the mickey."

The Government has just published its disability cuts Bill. No-one can pretend anymore that they don't know what this Bill is really all about. The cover of the Bill makes it very clear. This Bill is "to restrict eligibility for the Personal Independence Payment."

The “welfare reform bill” is out and let’s be clear: this is not reform - it is devastating cuts. Disabled people will be made poorer, sicker, and more isolated as a result. That it is a Labour government causing this misery will be a mark of shame on the party for years to come.

The dog thought that if he waited in line, he would get some ice cream. The store manager didn't want to disappoint the dog. God bless him!

In utter dismay at the Government's benefits bill today. Utterly ridiculous to claim it is supportive to give 3 months additional payments to those having their PIP taken away... and then what? Do we suddenly stop being Disabled?

WTAF? Are they insane? "DWP confirms that the plans include a three-month transitional payment for people who are losing the personal independence payment. It claims this is “one of the most generous” transitional payments ever offered as part of a benefit change." #TakingThePIP

‼️ BREAKING: Record cuts for disabled people and the biggest social security cuts since 2015 The new Universal Credit and PIP bill will push nearly HALF A MILLION more people into severe hardship and towards the doors of food banks.

This bill will bring forward the most devastating cuts to disability benefits on record. The government's own impact assessment report says 250,000 people could be pushed into poverty. This bill if passed will be a stain on the Labour Party for years to come. I urge Labour

So Labour MPs have been conned into voting for the cuts to Disability Benefits with the promise of a 3 months "transition period", after which the benefits will then stop. Really? Do they really think they will escape the wrath of their constituents with this nonsense?

The Independent Alliance has tabled the following amendment to the Government's disability cuts Bill. MPs should think long and hard about the dreadful consequences these cuts will have. Rest assured, we will keep campaigning for the rights of disabled people to live in dignity.
