For MANY yrs (maybe ten?) my boys have helped me set up my classroom. They got the muscles to move my heavy lab tables💪 It's been a week, but I still have their "special" notes they left this year. Def a convo starter as Ts have come into room this wk🤣 We have a house divided!

Thank you WHS PTSA for the yummy breakfast tacos this morning! It was a great way to start our last PD day before the Ss come! As you can tell from this late post, it was a busy but productive day! I love where I work! So excited for tomorrow!

I'm so happy as all IPC Ss already got their composition/spiral notebook. I saw them Wed, & by Fri they all had one & brought it to class! Such responsible & reliable Ss. I gave every Ss a science sticker to celebrate! On day 2 we got to dive into using our sci notebooks! Yay!

I'll always be his BIGGEST fan! Lots of yrs & memories of watching him play-- from tons of flag, ups & downs of middle school B & C teams, working his way to JV A starter last yr, & now we get to cheer for him at Friday Night Lights! So yes I teared up at the scrimmage❤️🖤🏈

Sticking w/ what I started last yr..making some every day lessons more "memorable." Thus we had a Blacklight Glow Party today while AP chem Ss worked EMR calcs. I wore my brightest colors--might have a repeat outfit tomorrow 😆🤣

We had so much fun in IPC today. I was too busy to take pictures, but we did an Metric Mystery Escape Room! Gemini & I put it together as a way for Ss to practice making correct measurements & doing metric conversions. And I just had an electronic lockbox. So fun & easy!

For over a month now this trashcan has been full every time I pass it. I am beginning to think it doesn't get emptied. City of Cedar Park this is at Bell Blvd & Park--just an fyi.

So if we haven't heard from the Round Rock ISD is @roundrockisd foundation by now does this mean we didn't win a grant? 1st time I've applied for a grant, & so I'm not sure the process. Will they let us know if we weren't chosen? I'm patiently waiting🤪 Oh, & of course congrats to this RRHS teacher!🙌

First Fun Flex Friday, and happy to say "Mah Jongg Time" is back!! I had a huge turnout this week--i wasn't prepared for so many Ss. I told them that next time I'll have more MJ sets!

Took me 2 weekends, but I finished reading all 180 intro Ss surveys. Every yr I debate giving survey, as if giving I must read & it takes so long, but in the end I know it's worth it. Now to work on my full inbox--tons of college rec letters, and SPED & EB info to read & learn.

Impressed w/ Vista Ridge H.S. open house! My son's Ts are passionate about their subjects😊 Is it weird that Ts who never taught him know & welcome him? I feel this is a sign of a great community...or that my son talks too much😆! Robin Klepper he's fully come out of his shell!

Fun day in IPC! We 1)used volume to find if cheapest coffee is actually best price per mL coffee 2)massed out sugar, salt, & "caffeiene" from various food item nutrition labels 3) figured out clues to find objects to measure length & then do metric conversions to get next clue.
