Glorious (but very hot) day Abbeydale Golf Club in Sheffield. Lovely to meet up again with my former colleague, Graham, & enjoy a tough course in great condition. Beautiful tees & greens. Played ok🥵🏌️‍♂️⛳️

A lovely trip to a v. warm & sunny Doncaster Racecourse where the ultra-genuine #CloudyRose won the opening amateurs’ handicap over the 14-furlong St Leger course, given an outstanding ride by Paul Hainey. A pleasure to train such an honest horse for a syndicate of v. sporting owners.

The sun setting tonight over the oldest (existing) golf course in the world. 📍 Old Musselburgh, Scotland. Just five miles outside of Edinburgh, host of The Open six times, and located within an active horse-racing track. And yes, you can play it for just £20.

Our weekend in North Yorkshire finished via Helmsley at the glorious Rievaulx Abbey founded by the Cistercians in 1132. A truly wonderful place🙂🐶🎃🙏
