I want to just throw a load of unseen poetry at Y11 in intervention time (feeling happy now about the core texts) so Team English share your favourite unseen poems with me? I can collate all with Qs and share. Ideally modern poems at the same level they get in the exam. My 2:

I’ve been asked to consider three strategies that we could implement across the curriculum to develop writing skills. I’m reading TWR and it’s full of great ideas- I was wondering if anybody could share what they’ve implemented/ has it been successful? Litdrive UK Jennifer Webb

I have created a document to support our subject leaders with #disciplinaryliteracy across a range of subjects as a starting point for editing and developing into their own curriculums. Created with the help of AI to really drill down into key aspects of #literacy #edutwitter

Delighted and honoured to have been asked by Andy Sammons to present at the Wakefield Learning Community Conference this afternoon. The topic? Assessment in English at KS3. I got to present alongside the brilliant: @HoDandHeart, Miss Lawrence 💙 and Chris Curtis. Slides 🔽

RELUCTANT WRITERS: a BIG 🧵 📝🖊️✍️🖋️👩‍💻 I say reluctant, but really that describes a whole host of young people who struggle to put pen to paper for a diverse range of reasons. 1/

Oracy is EXTREMELY important. But it’s hard to do really well and requires lots of prerequisites to be in place, such as really strong behaviour for learning and really strong teachers with experience and subject expertise. 1/ 🧵

I've been using these as my 'do now' for English for a week now and have these observations: 1. Children are getting much faster at spotting mistakes and at constructing sentences. This task takes circa 7 mins atm. 2. The 7 mins is worth it as sentence construction is improving

I am running out of P2 mini mocks. Only one answer for it... A few more coming for the final four days, will share on here if helpful. AQA seem to love travel and weather, so I'm sticking with these themes 🤣

I try and embed the following structures throughout the year, but hand this out in the final weeks - similar to the one below. I've had students do really well on the paper with these structures - this paper is SO hard. They need structures, imo

Team English Jennifer Webb Litdrive UK a local school holds a LitFest week in which they get a range of authors in. We really want to do something similar but don’t have a huge budget. Does anybody else do this? If so, where do I start? 🙏⭐️📚
