I am so excited to be teaming up with BOSF - @bosfonline.bsky.social ๐ฆ yet again during their year of 20th anniversary celebrations! ๐ Join us for a magical nature walk along one of Bham City Council great wildlife corridors Sat 19 April, 10am-12pm (meet 9:45) ///cubes.deeper.pill (What3Words)

Is ethics in birding at an all time low? Council now having to put barriers up to stop people from disturbing nesting birds in Staffordshire. A very sad state of affairs and genuinely shocked.๐ณ We can only change this by challenging poor behaviour West Midland Bird Club

Individual grooming of the face, legs, belly and tail to maintain coat and remove parasites. Collaborative grooming, allows access to areas that cannot be reached by individual grooming, rump and back. It also strengthens social bonds in the group. Ladywalk NR

Fantastic news: The Sand Martin bank we built in Partnership with Severn Trent is being used and currently has 5 active nests. We use ZEISS Birding Trail Cams to monitor the nest bank, which gives us great footage and keeps us up to date with daily activity.

Congratulations to the 17 sites who participated in yesterday's #westmidsalldayer - some impressive totals considering the less than conducive weather. Star bird of the day was undoubtedly the Glossy Ibis which graced both Branston and Ladywalk. Well done all ๐ West Midland Bird Club

Great to see Nightjars back on Cannock Chase last night with the first male caught and ringed of the season. Great to see such good habitat on Staffordshire County Council and amazing support from their wardens.

Meet 6J, which is the male of the only breeding pair of stonechat found Sutton Ranger this year. Itโs a real surprise how quickly these have dropped off, however lots of dogs off leads in Habitat, 1 was seen to force fledge the chicks from the nest. We need to be better!
