#OUB329 Wk3 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Considering charismatic national leadership with spectacles such as mass rallies and the power of personality and behavior. Very worrying parallels between the current leadership of Russia and the Leadership of 1930's Germany.

#OUB329 Wk4 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Considering cultural norms this week has been fascinating and the GLOBE map is a great visual aid. Having previously tried to instill different values at work, I understand that some of the difficulties I faced were cultural.

#OUB329 Wk5 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley The highlight for me was interviewing a family member about the precarity and turbulence faced by young people. We should all be mindful that these young people and their experiences will influence them as future leaders!

#OUB329 Wk7 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Realising that I created an identity for myself and from that point continued to find ways to learn and work toward being that person in my professional life was salutary. I am motivated to develop myself into a more inspiring leader.

#OUB329 Wk8 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley This week I identified my leadership style as predominantly coaching with delegation as my lowest score. On reflection, to be a more rounded leader I need to trust more.

#OUB329 Wk9 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley The concept of collaborative thuggery is something I employ a little too often despite my perception that I favour a coaching style. Real food for thought and a personal promise to myself to support colleagues in working effectively.

#OUB329 Wk10 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley It is clear why the repression of free speech and the censorship and shutdown of social networks is commonplace in countries where the ruling elites wish to retain power and prevent followers from resisting and leading. #FreeSpeech

#OUB329 Wk10 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Followers being able to hold leaders to account, resist poor leadership and vote ineffective leaders out of office are all things that we in the UK are privileged to be able to do.

#OUB329 Wk11 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Using constructive dissent to effect positive outcomes seems challenging but rewarding. My default approach of reducing conflict and "keeping a lid on things" seems like the easy way out now.. Something new to have in the toolkit!

#OUB329 Wk12 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Understanding differences between collaborating partners early to inform future compromises rather than always going for early quick wins to "grease the wheels" is an obvious potential route to win/win but one that I never considered!

#OUB329 Wk12 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Currently reflecting on how understanding differences between collaborating partners early on in a process to inform future compromises seems like another example of using constructive dissent covered in week 11.

#OUB329 Wk14 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Learning about #Tame #Wicked #Critical leadership challenges and shortlisting previously unsolved #Wicked suggestions for red group's 'call to action' #B329LeadershipChallenge

#OUB329 Wk15 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley I have been learning about the 4 faces of power and resistance. I realise how earlier in my career I saw resistance as a positive thing and now I have a senior position I have a tendency to see it as negative.

#OUB329 Wk16 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Routinising conflict by requiring a number of dissenting views prior to an agreement being reached sounds fresh and exciting! I absolutely must try this in one of my meetings (after explanation of the benefits to colleagues!)

#OUB329 Wk17 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley This week was all about leadership and social change, I found the section on storytelling most useful when considering how to frame my #b329leadershipchallenge

#OUB329 Wk18 B329 Leadership Kristina Risley Finalising my #B329LeadershipChallenge call to action, I think I have settled on #Howtothriveinprecarioustimes - Top Tips for Successful Twentysomethings As my suggestion to Red Group, it depends on the feedback to this Tweet!

We won the #B329leadershipchallenge for our tutor group!! Very proud of the #RedTeam and what we turned out! Thank you to Kristina Risley and The Open University for this experience. I've really enjoyed #OUB329 . Congratulations Louise Abson Mike & KATRINA GIBBONS !
