Pleased to attend service of dedication for the previously unmarked grave of Private Herbert Henry Tingle in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Local historians and Commonwealth War Graves volunteers and staff had worked for several years to ensure that Private H. H Tingle’s grave could be officially marked.

Our staff have recently installed a Gallipoli Marker on the grave of Petty Officer Stoker Harry John Baker, who had previously been commemorated on our Chatham Naval Memorial. Harry is at rest in Sittingbourne Cemetery, Kent, where we care for 70 casualties of both world wars.

A tricky job in a tight spot yesterday for Luke Unsworth capturing a high-res image of J P Beadle's painting of Gheluvelt, currently fixed on top of a 9-foot display case in the Worcestershire Soldier Gallery. Can't wait to share the results with Passchendaele Museum for their new exhibit!
