Researchers are using Theia3D to study the effects of  knee replacement surgery by analyzing pre- and post-op walking patterns (gait). Their goal is to improve the quality of these surgeries and to better analyze patient walking patterns.

Amazing what Theia allows us to do as biomechanics researchers. 6 participants each collected at two sites (12 total collections) in just a couple of hours. Unthinkable with a markered setup.

So good to see this work published. Markerless motion capture is proving to be robust to clothing conditions.
