13-16 Mar: Small-pointed #snails very active under the snail cam at Gibson WA SEPWA. Vid (15 Mar) starts at 2:30am, but they moved all night every night last 4 days🐌. Good time to apply #snailbait anywhere #snails are this active. @thegrdc Stirlings to Coast Farmers PestFactsSA

17-18 Mar (SA): No overnight #snail movement seen under cameras at mid coast YP and southern YP 🐌. Still too dry but won't take much to set them off. I'll keep you updated! GRDC Eyre P cam is down, up soon🤞Check o/n activity by placing a few bait pellets PestFactsSA

Fantastic video from 19 Mar SEPWA. Now is the perfect time to start #snailbaiting if #snails are doing this at your place 🐌 @thegrdc #moreeffectivecontrol

Mar 19-25 (SA): Still not much #snail movement under cams on mid/southern YP. But look out, #millipedes want to eat your #snailbait! Millipedes v active when soil got wet (20Mar/L). They tried to eat our bait pellets (23Mar/R) 😋 but still too dry/hard! GRDC PestFactsSA

Apr 2-9: In SA, #snails have 'woken up' & now more responsive to moisture. Round snails have been active under YP/EP snail cams on nights when ground rel. humidity exceeds 90%, conical snails more like 95%. First pics from the Eyre P cam! (3 Apr) 🐌 GRDC PestFactsSA

April 2-9: In WA, there is continuing high activity of small-pointed #snails under the snail cam at Gibson SEPWA, and now high activity north of Albany and at Woogenellup Stirlings to Coast Farmers. Very good timing for #snailbaiting if snails are active on your farm🐌@thegrdc

Next update on #snail activity under cams from me will be early May. For WA, Stirlings to Coast Farmers and SEPWA have you covered!🐌For SA, dewy mornings and light o/n sprinkles 🌧️already have snails up and going, so look for early #snailbaiting opportunities on your farm GRDC

Dr Kym Perry (@x_slimeminister) 's Twitter Profile Photo

SA, 10-21 May: Quite a lot of #snail movement under cams o/night on southern YP (left) and Lower Eyre (right) with a few rain sprinkles🌦️ Vids from 16th May show high #conical snail movement with soil slightly wet. Great time to apply #snailbait when RH > 90%! 🐌 PestFactsSA

Want to know how #snails have enjoyed the rain 🌧️in SA? Last two nights under the cam on southern YP (26-27 May), #conical snails have gone full speed on wet soil. Great time to target #conical snails with #snailbait🐌Also watch out for those millipedes! PestFactsSA GRDC

Mandalotus weevils have been ring-barking canola seedlings at Mt Hope & Tooligie, Eyre P 🪲Check canola 1-week after emergence for missing plants. Weevils are 3-5mm, hard to spot during day, can be found feeding at night. If you find some, let me know! PestFactsSA GRDC
