Tube-dwelling diatoms from Iceland 🇮🇸. I cannot express how much love I have for them. They form these thin but very long tubes and move back and forth inside by the thousands. Tubes protect them from diatom grazers and lift them from the substrate surface so they get more light.

The new aperiodic monotile discovered by Dave Smith, Joseph Myers, Craig Kaplan, and Chaim Goodman-Strauss, rendered as shirts and hats. The hat tiles are mirrored relative to the shirt tiles.

During a solar eclipse, the gaps between leaves on trees act as multiple pinhole cameras, and each gap projects its own crescent-shaped image of the eclipsed sun onto the ground. 📹gottigreen

An adjacency matrix is a way of representing a finite #graph. The matrix elements indicate whether pairs of vertices are adjacent or not in the graph. The eigenvalues and eigenvectors of an adjacency matrix are studied in #spectral #GraphTheory. #MathType #math #mathfacts
