Fresh in on the SW's, Magpie is added to the house and Patchwork Challenge list. Still a very good bird this far north in the county, winds are a nightmare for it's tail #PWC2024 #patchgold #CaithnessBirds

Found these three Cranes from the train at Winless this evening #CaithnessBirds BirdGuides

Tennessee Warbler found by Nina_OHanlon and I this morning on Fair Isle Bird Observatory

Another great day Fair Isle Bird Observatory! Rob Hughes struck again with a Arctic Warbler in the obs garden which was a lifer for me, also the first Yellow-Browed Warbler of the year in Plantation and 3 Rosefinch on top of just a Tennessee Warbler and Pec Sand ! What a place !

We had this Siberian/Amur Stonechat at Field ditch on Fair Isle this afternoon Fair Isle Bird Observatory Only a few hundred metres from the lingering Tennessee Warbler!

Siberian Stonechat new in Fair Isle Bird Observatory today, again found by the unstoppable force that is Rob Hughes and Nina_OHanlon. Nice to compare and contrast today's presumed maurus (left) with last autumn's stejnegeri (right)

Left Fair Isle today. What an amazing week! Found birds from America, Siberian and the Arctic! Fair Isle Bird Observatory

New paper, led by Rob Hughes in Mires and Peat: More bird species gain from Flow Country afforestation than loose - BUT there's more declines among red-listed birds. Plus loosers are birds for which Flow Country is more important in UK terms. mires-and-peat.net/pages/volumes/β¦ #PeatTwitter

Little Auks heading north past Nybster in big numbers today. 176+ past in 1.5 hours of counting. Grey Phalarope went north too #CaithnessBirds BirdGuides
