Postdoc positions available in my lab Karolinska Institutet - exciting science and fantastic environment. I take mentoring seriously - 7/7 postdocs that left my lab has faculty positions today. Existing datasets and funds to build new ones available. shorturl.at/sj2YE

🧵 It's raining outside, perfect for some vibe coding... ☔ So I built something cool with Anthropic's Claude Desktop! Introducing Claude Text Editor - edit ANY text, ANYWHERE on macOS with Claude's help. No more copy-paste gymnastics! 🚀

Honored to be an HHMI FHS! Grateful to colleagues who push me to think deeply, and students whose curiosity & energy make the lab a joy. My grad advisor said in genetic screens, you don’t get what you want—you get what you deserve. Hope we are deserving! hhmi.org/programs/freem…

Excited to share the first 2(!) preprints from the Kebschull Lab. The amazing Hyopil Kim developed MAPseq2 & POINTseq and used them to map the dopaminergic cells of VTA and SNc. tl;dr MAPseq2=10x cheaper, 4x better; POINTseq=easy cell type specific barcoding; DA neurons=very cool

New preprint from Wei-Chung Allen Lee @darbly.bsky.social lab, Brian DePasquale lab, and my lab! If you love (or hate) mosquitoes, have a look: doi.org/10.1101/2025.0… We used TEM to describe the circuitry used for CO2 detection by mosquitoes. As usual with mosquitoes, nothing is as expected! 🌬️🦟

Browsing the current issue of Cell and realizing how many articles deal with human disease made me look back at the original issue- all basic science: how much we grew as a field in 41 years thanks to continuous and generous NIH funding! Best investment ever!
