Now out! I'm beyond thrilled to share our method for dynamically measuring neurulation forces. We hope that our addition to the toolkit will push forward the quantification of living tissue mechanics. This stunning image won our annual image competition and has made its way to our website. It shows twin chicken embryos with a joint body stained for N-cadherin (magenta), actin (yellow) and nuclei (cyan) and was captured by UCL student Brendan Chiong who visited the Fengzhu Xiong lab

Associating the student’s misconduct with the student’s ethnicity is harmful. It doesn’t matter that she said “Most Chinese I know are honest. I hope this is an exception.” One can try replacing “Chinese” with “people of color” and read it again. Is it not blatantly offensive?
